Train Forced to Stop for Man Passed Out on Tracks
Chatham Ontario - A 54-year-old Windsor man is facing charges, including being intoxicated in a public place, after allegedly passing
out on train tracks, forcing a train to stop.
Chatham-Kent police were called to a section of the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks between King Street East and Colborne Street at 12:20 a.m.
When an officer arrived, he learned the accused had passed out on the train tracks forcing an approaching train to stop, police said.
The man allegedly got up, moved off the tracks, and passed out again just metres from the tracks, police said.
After arresting the man for public intoxication, the officer discovered the accused was also bound by conditions not to consume alcohol, which resulted in
charges of breaching probation and breaching a recognizance.
Police said the man was held for bail.
