Fewer Trains a'Coming to Ioco Spur After 9 p.m.
Coquitlam British Columbia - Tri-Cities residents might sleep more soundly since the Canadian Pacific Railway adjusted its late-night
train schedule.
Port Moody city manager Gaetan Royer said the CPR advisory panel held a recent meeting prompted by complaints about late-night trains on the Ioco Spur. As a
result, the train schedule was changed.
"CPR announced [Monday] night that they've adjusted their schedule such that there has been no train after 9 p.m. for the last month or so," Royer
told council Tuesday.
"They don't expect that there's going to be trains after 9 p.m. in the future, although obviously there's the caveat that they operate the Ioco Spur and
there's the possibility of using it 24-7. But certainly as part of their base operations, they're striving to not have any late night trains anymore."
Mayor Joe Trasolini said a CPR representative travelled to Port Moody a month ago to seek a resolution.
"I hope that this will be a more permanent solution for the residents that are affected," Trasolini said.
