A Sin at Garden of Eden
Garden of Eden Ontario - Dismantlement activities on the Chalk River Subdivision have proceeded east to about milepost 65 as of
Thursday afternoon.
Approximately two-thirds of the available pockets on the CWR train will be filled by mid-Friday morning, at which time the third loaded CWR train will depart
for Smiths Falls.
Plans are for one more loaded CWR train to come off the Chalk this year carrying the last 6 or so miles of rail scheduled to be lifted, leaving the roadbed
bare as far east as the Lochiel Street crossing in Renfrew at milepost 59.23.
By this time next week the Bonnechere River bridge west of Renfrew will likely have seen its last train.
And with that less than cheery note, another week draws to a close in the Valley.
