Man Dead After Train Vehicle Collide in Milton

Mississauga Ontario - A 70-year-old Mississauga man died in a crash with a CP Rail freight train in Milton Friday morning.
 
Halton police say they were called to a railroad crossing on Fifth Line, between Main St. E and Derry Rd. W, just before 9 a.m.
 
Police have blocked off that portion of Fifth Line as they investigate. It was expected to remain closed throughout the morning.
 
Sgt. Dave Cross says he doesn't know what the car was doing on the tracks, which have barriers that come down when a train is coming.
 
"In most cases, even though the barriers are down, people can go around them and sometimes do," said Cross.
 
The man's name was not immediately released.
