CP Rail Yard Repaired After Derailment
Sudbury Ontario - Nine cars on a 55-car Huron Central Railway train derailed in the Canadian Pacific rail yard off of Elgin Street at
around 3:50 a.m. 28 Dec 2011.
"This is just something where it was just one wheel off per car," Kevin Hrysak, a spokesperson for Canadian Pacific, told Northern Life.
"All of that stuff was re-railed within that same day."
Nobody was injured in the incident. The train, which was travelling at a slow speed at the time of the accident, was not carrying any hazardous materials,
Hrysak said.
Dozens of workers appeared to be repairing the tracks in front of Northern Life 28 Dec 2011.
Hrysak said they were likely repairing damage caused by the derailment.
He would not disclose how much it cost Canadian Pacific to repair this damage.
