Two-Year-Old Recovering After Being Struck by Train
Camrose Alberta - A two-year-old boy is recovering after being struck by a train around 7:30 p.m., 2 May 2012 in Camrose.
Camrose Police said the toddler only suffered minor bumps and bruises after wandering away from a parent and working in an unfenced backyard west of the 53
Street CP crossing, across the lane, and onto the Canadian Pacific railway tracks.
The train crew of an approaching westbound train saw the child ahead and attempted to stop while sounding the train horn.
The train struck the child, knocking the child off the track, before it could come to a stop.
Camrose Police said, as this incident could have had tragic results, they remind residents to stay alert and know of the potential dangers associated around
railway crossings and railway property, as a train can be approaching at any moment.
The investigation is continuing.
