CP Rail Employees Back on the Job
Canada - Canadian Pacific Railway says service is returning to normal across its rail network, following a Parliament order that pushed
striking workers back on the job.
The company says operations resumed across its entire Canadian freight network this morning.
A company official says so far there have been no reported issues with workers as yet.
The union representing the 4,800 strikers asked its members to end their walkout after federal back-to-work legislation became law on Thursday night.
The workers, including locomotive engineers, walked out nine days ago, forcing Canada's second-biggest railway to shut down its freight operations.
CP Rail has said its freight service should be back to normal within 48 hours, and will not affect the economy.
