Big Donation to Help CP Station Restoration
Portage la Prairie Manitoba - The historic CP Station in Portage la Prairie will see some improvements going forward with new funding
received through a local donation by Kozy Korner.
"We're very excited about it," said Vic Edwards, who is the past president of Portage Heritage Inc. and the current chair of the Save the CP Station
Committee.
The donation will also give the organization a boost in an effort to apply for government funding also.
"Any time you apply for funding from any government agency, you need 50 percent. So in essence, that is not only a 5,000 donation, it's a $10,000 donation
to us," said Edwards.
"It certainly goes a long way in our project here at the CP Station. Every dollar means a lot to us, and certainly when we get a sizable recognition like
that it gives us a bit more impetus that we can get more accomplished, sooner... We're very happy with it. It was a nice surprise."
The donation will be helpful for the CP Station ongoing restoration project.
