Man Dies After Being Hit by Train at Regina Rail Yards
Regina Saskatchewan - A man has died at the Canadian Pacific Railway yards in Regina, after apparently trying to hop aboard a freight
train, according to police.
Regina police say CP workers saw the man trying to jump onto the train on Sunday night, but he was struck and killed.
A different man was seen doing something similar at the rail yards on Saturday night, but he escaped with minor injuries.
"These types of situations, you know, with trespassing onto rail property, or climbing onto equipment, it's very serious," CP spokesman Kevin Hrysak
said Monday.
"It's very unsafe and people should know to stay away from trains," he added. "They can have this type of serious implication."
Police and CP officials say Sunday night's incident is under investigation. No details about the deceased man were released, including his name or age.
