Want Quiet? Move
Thunder Bay Ontario - Re: Noisy Trains, letter, 8 Aug 2012.
Were the tracks not there when Phillip Brown decided to purchase/rent his living space?
I do believe the railway has traversed the city since the late 1870s when they had the sod-turning ceremony (1875) to start construction of the railway.
Sound barriers of the type he enjoyed in Toronto are not going to happen so he might consider moving to a quieter area of the city.
If he is thinking of buying property on Dawson Road he may want to take into consideration the couple of hundred transports that use this highway on a daily
basis.
He should also be aware of the airport and the flight path of aircraft taking off and landing.
The primary flight path runs 25 degrees north-northeast.
What happens in southern Ontario stays in southern Ontario because the governments can't see past Sudbury or North Bay when it comes to spending our tax
dollars.
Good luck.
Tom Sanderson.
