Calgary Alberta - Consulting engineering companies won awards at the 2011 Masonry Design Awards of Alberta held on 8 Apr 2011 in Calgary.
 
DIALOG won the top honour, the Presidential Award, for the Royal Canadian Pacific Railway Pavilion in Calgary.
 
Inspired by a historic steel trestle bridge, the facility uses oversized heavy steel members to emulate the bridge, with large module limestone masonry to reflect the heavy nature of the Rocky Mountains.
 
The limestone masonry is consistent with the existing train pavilion and sympathetic to the adjacent historic Paliser Hotel and Grain Exchange buildings which are clad in sandstone.
