Vancouver British Columbia - A train derailment early Sunday morning knocked out power near Deltaport but didn't seem to cause any other
issues.
According to GCT Canada, which operates Deltaport, the derailment didn't cause any issues at their Roberts Bank facility.
The train went off the tracks about 06:15 just short of the entrance to the port area.
The train hit a power pole, disrupting power for about a dozen B.C. Hydro customers in the area.
Power was expected to be restored by 19:00 Sunday.
Because of concern over downed power lines, road access was blocked to and from the facility about 200 metres away from the derailment.
The train was carrying closed shipping containers and there was no risk of spills or contamination.
