Edson Alberta - So Premier Notley wants the railways to buy more oil tankers and locomotives to move the oil glut.
Only problem is there's too many trains on the rails already and not enough track.
Both of Canada's railways are already maxed out with moving not only oil, but grain and containers.
Grain producers will not take too kindly to being relegated to second best when it comes to commodities transportation.
Plus, will there be sufficient train crews available to move all this stuff?
Then there's VIA Rail.
The passenger service is already struggling with its schedule, what with all the extra freight movements.
More freight trains will mean an even slower schedule for VIA's Canadian, which could hasten Canada's premier passenger train ever the more closer to its
doom.
