Portage la Prairie Manitoba - The big news from last week's Portage Heritage Incorporated annual general meeting is the new display at
the CP station.
Tom McCartney is the president of Portage Heritage Incorporated and says the Railway Club has been working diligently on repairing the station and creating a
new display in the east end.
"There have been quite a few changes that are worthwhile coming to see," notes McCartney, explaining while Covid did shut the museum down to the
public, Portage Heritage Inc. nonetheless achieved quite a bit in terms of remodeling.
He notes due to the pandemic, they did have to cancel this year's antiques and collectibles show and the organization is being cautious about planning future
events.
He says, however, that they are still there and the CP Station is open to visitors every Monday night between 19:00 and 21:00, and Saturdays through the summer
from 10:00 to 15:00.
