Cranbrook British Columbia - The rail cars in the process of de-accessioning by the Cranbrook History Center include:
Chinook set (as one unit comprising 4 semi-streamlined steel cars):
- Baggage Car 3612, built in 1940. Condition fair. Currently used as a workshop and storage;
- Baggage and Buffet Combine 3051, built in 1936. Condition fair. Baggage area used for storage. Original interior;
- Coach 2104, built in 1936. Condition poor. Some water damage to wall panels. Original interior;
- Coach 1700, built in 1938. Condition poor. Some water damage to wall panels and weakening floor panels. Original interior.
Other cars:
- CP Baggage car 4481, built in 1921;
- Steel Heavyweight. Condition poor to fair. Used for storage. Recent water damage due to exposed roof panels. A quarter of the roof has been recently
covered with new rolled roofing material;
- CP Sleeper Redvers, built in 1929;
- Steel Heavyweight. Condition fair. Restored 1950's modernized interior. Small but numerous repairs required;
- CP Sleeper Newcastle, built in 1921;
- Steel Heavyweight. Condition poor. CP work train interior condition;
- CP Diner Wingfield;
- Steel Heavyweight. Condition poor. CP work train interior condition;
- Locomotive Tender 3100, built in 1928, from 4-8-4 locomotive. Condition poor. Previously used on excursion service.
The Cranbrook History Center will make more information available as the de-accessioning process continues.
