Craigellachie British Columbia - With a world wide pandemic and democracy being challenged in the heart of the free world one might think
the driving of the Last Spike has become irrelevant.
Not so.
Canada was born in 1867 but it wasn't until 18 years later that Canada actually, physically, became Canada.
Those tracks that stitched this nation together may have become almost invisible, unnoticed by many, (except those cursing their stop at a grade crossing) even
after spreading out and multiplying country-wide.
But irrelevant, never.
They are more important today than ever.
Think about that when you're stuck at the next crossing driving a car that was built from parts delivered by rail and likely shipped to you by rail
also.
