London Ontario - You'll want to avoid Adelaide Street North this weekend as the main thoroughfare will be closed to motorists, cyclists,
and pedestrians for railway work between Central Avenue and Pall Mall Street.
The closure will be in effect from 18:00 Saturday until 23:00 Sunday for railway work ahead of the upcoming Adelaide Street underpass project.
Londoners heading to the Carling Heights assessment centre for a COVID-19 test are being advised to expect delays in the area.
The city will have extensive marked detours in place.
Northbound drivers are being directed east on King Street, north on Ontario Street, then east on Dundas Street to Highbury Avenue.
Southbound drivers are being detoured east on Oxford Street to Highbury, then west on Dundas to Quebec Street and Queens Avenue.
TC detours will be in effect for Route 16, with buses being detoured at Central and Pall Mall to William Street.
Another road closure is planned for later in the month, with another day of rail work scheduled.
The Adelaide Street underpass project is scheduled for construction starting next year and into 2022.
