Transport Canada Plan to Require More Rail Data Begins Comment Period
15 December 2020
Ottawa Ontario - Transport Canada (TC) has begun the consultation period on a proposal to collect new data from Class I freight railroads,
including service and performance information that would be available to the public.
In addition to the weekly service and performance data, the proposal would require the largest Class I railroads to report information on the composition of
trains, increased aggregate traffic reporting by smaller Class I railroads, and minor adjustments to waybill reporting.
The consultation period will end 26 Feb 2021.
