CN and CP Lines Reopen in British Columbia
17 July 2021
Thompson and Fraser Canyons - CN and CP were both able to operate rail service through the Thompson and Fraser River canyons on Friday,
the Port of Vancouver informed customers, while cautioning that wildfire activity in British Columbia's interior continues and "impacts to rail operations
are evolving and changing quickly."
Both railroads had halted operations east of Lytton on Friday at the request of the B.C. Wildfire Service.
The port reported CN's former British Columbia Railway line between Vancouver and Prince George remains closed because of fires.
Port congestion at Vancouver is considerable as a result of the rail shutdowns that began 28 Jun 2021 when a fire devastated the town of
Lytton.

"rail shutdowns that began 28 Jun 2021"... seems a bit early as the Lytton fire was on
30 Jun 2021.
