Kansas City Missouri USA - KCS yesterday announced that it reached record daily average grain carloads in November, breaking the high-water
mark set just the previous month in October.
The Class I broke its record by providing all-time-low cross-border, grain-shuttle train cycle times, KCS officials said in a press release.
KCS receives and originates shipments of grain and grain products for deliveries in the United States and Mexico.
Cross-border grain shipments represent some of the longest lengths of haul on its network, originating in the U.S. Midwest and terminating in central and
southern Mexico.
An intense cross-functional focus on customer service and operational performance is driving near-record velocity and dwell performance, KCS officials
said.
