Kenora Ontario - The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is continuing their investigation into the collision between a transport
truck and a train earlier this month.
On 3 Dec 2021 around 11:40 a CP freight train was heading east when it struck the front end of a tractor-trailer unit at the railway crossing near Beaver Brae
Secondary School.
No injuries were reported as the driver of the vehicle, and his dog, were able to escape safely.
There was also no derailment or any leaks.
The TSB says they are following up on the incident, which has been classified as a Class 5 investigation.
A Class 5 investigation is defined as an incident with no release of dangerous goods or damage to property, that has little likelihood of identifying new
safety lessons to advance transportation safety.
As such, the TSB says their investigation is limited to data collection.
They were reported to be at the scene of the collision on the afternoon of 15 Dec 2021.
Their investigation is expected to take 60 days to complete.
