Biscotasing Ontario - Officials with CP say there are no public safety concerns following a train derailment in northeastern
Ontario on Saturday.
Eight cars derailed in the Biscotasing area, between Sudbury and Timmins, around 18:00, 12 Mar 2022, CP spokesperson Stacy Patenaude told CTV News in
an email.
"There were no injuries and no public safety issues. After all repairs and safety inspections were complete, the rail line was reopened early
Sunday," Patenaude said.
"The incident is under investigation."
It was the second derailment involving a CP freight train that day after one carrying corn derailed near Drinkwater, Saskatchewan, just 12 hours
earlier, around 06:30.
There were no injuries or safety concerns related to the Saskatchewan derailment either.
