Windsor Ontario - A man wanted by London police was caught trying to sneak into the U.S. atop a
freight train, American border officials say.
Agents on the Michigan side of the Canada-U.S. border saw an individual riding on top of an inbound freight train from
Windsor to Detroit Sunday and contacted Canadian Pacific Railway, requesting that the train be stopped, according to
the U.S. border patrol.
Once the train was stopped, agents arrested a 33-year-old man for illegal entry into the U.S.
The man is wanted by London police for possession of a dangerous weapon, U.S. border officials say.
The man was handed over to Canada Border Services Agency.
"It is extremely dangerous to enter the United States illegally, particularly through the train tunnel. Our
outstanding relationships with our foreign law enforcement and CP partners were key in bringing this situation to a
safe and effective law enforcement resolution," said U.S. border official Robert Danley.
