Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Train

Calgary Alberta - A busy route in Calgary's Beltline was shut down Monday morning after one person
was fatally struck by a freight train.
It happened at about 08:15.
The victim was declared dead at the scene near the railway tracks south of Ninth Avenue at 11th Street S.W., an EMS
official said.
The age and gender of the victim were not released.
The route between Ninth and 10th avenues along 11th Street S.W. remained closed late Monday morning with a train
stopped on the tracks as police continued to investigate.
