Macoun Saskatchewan - Two cars carrying Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) were involved in the fire
following the derailment of a Canadian Pacific train near Macoun on Thursday, CP has reported.
The news site Saskatchewan Today says the railroad reports no injuries occurred in the accident about 10:00 on
Thursday.
The fire continued to burn as of 19:40, Thursday, with a small number of homes still evacuated and Provincial Route 39
still closed.
As of Thursday evening, Deputy Fire Chief Kyle Luc of the nearby community of Estevan estimated the road closure would
continue for another 24 to 36 hours.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada said Thursday it was sending a team of investigators to the accident
scene.
