Marathon Ontario - A 38-year-old resident of a First Nation in northwestern Ontario has died after
being struck by a train.
Members of the Marathon Ontario Provincial Police said it happened 3 May 2023 on the railway tracks near Pic Mobert
First Nation.
Police were called at 23:00 to respond to the scene, where the victim was pronounced deceased by Algoma EMS upon
arrival.
"While the investigation is still in its early stages, there is believed to be no foul play suspected," the
OPP said in a news release.
"A post-mortem examination is taking place at a future date in Sault Ste. Marie."
