Saskatoon Saskatchewan - A woman died Tuesday afternoon after an incident involving a train,
Saskatoon police have confirmed.
Officers responded to the scene of what they described as a "sudden death" in the 700 block of 22nd Street,
police said in a media release Tuesday.
The major crime section and collision analyst unit were at the scene.
A subsequent media release said police had identified the woman and were trying to notify her next of kin.
Police said they don't believe her death is suspicious, the provincial coroner's office is continuing the
investigation.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada said Wednesday that it received a report on Tuesday that a westbound Canadian
Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) train struck a pedestrian at a public crossing between noon and 12:30.
The TSB said it is collecting information but didn't deploy investigators to the scene, and it will follow up with the
railway.
