Saskatoon Saskatchewan - A Saskatoon man whose vehicle was involved in a collision with a train on
Saturday night will be ticketed, Saskatoon police say.
Police said Monday that their investigation determined the driver had disobeyed a traffic control signal.
The collision at 11th Street West and Avenue W South led to traffic disruptions along other intersections up to 22nd
Street West and Avenue F North.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada confirmed it received a report about the collision and it is gathering
information and making an assessment.
A decision to investigate further will be made after a preliminary analysis of the information is
complete.
The TSB said it received a report that a westward CPKC train struck a vehicle at the Avenue W South public crossing at
10:52 Mountain Daylight Time, and the lone occupant of the vehicle sustained minor injuries.
This was the third incident reported in as many months in Saskatoon.
A woman died in late July after she was struck by a train at a public crossing in the area of the 700 block of 22nd
Street.
Police said her death was not suspicious.
In late August, a woman, who was identified as a pedestrian, sustained non-life-threatening injuries when she was
struck by a train near the intersection of 25th Street East and Idylwyld Drive.
