Medicine Hat Alberta - A piece of railroad history made a stop in the CP yard this
morning.
Steam engine came CP 2816 through this morning.
Known as the Empress, this Hudson type engine was put into service in 1930.
According to the CPKC website, the Empress is scheduled to begin a tour in April, commemorating the Final Spike driven
a year ago to complete the railway network that links Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.
The steam locomotive has also been seen earlier this week at Bassano and Lacombe.
According to Trains.com CPKC has been running main line tests of the locomotive.
