Simsboro Louisiana USA - No injuries were reported when 19 cars of a CPKC train derailed Sunday morning between the towns of Simsboro and Grambling.
 
The Ruston Leader reports the derailment occurred about 06:30.
 
The Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Office reports that some cars carried a hazardous material, although the material involved was not specified.
 
None spilled or was leaked.
 
Residents were advised to shelter in place, the newspaper reports.
 
Kip Franklin, Lincoln Parish director of homeland security and emergency preparedness, told the newspaper the location of the incident was fortunate, occurring a quarter-mile or more from the nearest residence.
 
CPKC workers were working Sunday evening to clear the wreck, which blocked state routes 563 and 150.
 
Simsboro is on the former KCS Vicksburg Subdivision, about 9 miles west of Ruston, and approximately 60 miles east of Shreveport.
