White Rock British Columbia - A landslide has disrupted Amtrak rail service between Seattle and Vancouver, BC, the company said Wednesday night.
 
Amtrak says the landslide has covered the railroad tracks near White Rock.
 
Due to this, BNSF put a 48 hour moratorium on passenger service between Seattle and Vancouver.
 
For those already with tickets, Amtrak says it will provide alternate bus transportation for these routes until the track is back up and running.

• Customers traveling north on train 516 will be provided alternate bus transportation to Vancouver, BC;
   
  
• Customers traveling south on train 517 will be provided alternate bus transportation between Vancouver, BC, and Seattle;
   
  
• Customers traveling north on train 518 will be provided alternate bus transportation between Seattle and Vancouver, BC;
   
  
• Customers traveling south on train 519 will be provided alternate bus transportation to Seattle.

Amtrak says customers on the Friday, 20 Dec 2024 train 517 will get alternate bus transit, and train 516 heading north that day will be held in Bellingham for an open track.
 
Trains are expected to be back up and running normally by Friday at noon, Amtrak says.
 
Customers looking to change their reservation during the modified schedule will not be charged additional fees and can call the reservation center at 1-800-USA-RAIL.
 
Amtrak says the latest train status can be found on Amtrak.com or in its mobile app.
