Colorado & Southern number 9, a 3 foot gauge 2-6-0 Mogul, at Sheridan Junction, Colorado - 15 Oct 1938 Otto Perry - Denver Public Library OP-6051.

I heard that the "Bear Trap" (spark arrestor) had been added to number 9 so I stopped by Silver Plume, and sure enough, it was. After all the years that number 9 sat on Morning Star siding moldering, it is nice to see it alive again - Sep 2006 Photographer unknown.

Colorado & Southern 9 backs over the high bridge for use as a head-end helper on the Georgetown Loop - 1 Aug 2006 David Schaaf.

The Uhrich Locomotive Works in Strasburg, Colorado, restored C&S 9 to operating condition in time for the 2006 operating season at the Georgetown Loop Railroad. Unfortunately, it proved to be too small for operating the tourist excursion trains between Georgetown and Silver Plume. It last operated in September 2006, was officially retired from tourist excursion service in 2007, and later traded to the High Line Railroad Park in Breckenridge, Colorado, in exchange for former International Railways of Central America 2-8-0 number 111 - Date?
