Now this is an interesting photo taken shortly after the train arrived in Oberwald. In the lower left you are looking at the end of the rack section on the DFB track coming down from Gletsch. Towards the center is a double-slip switch with the track to the right leading to a junction with the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGB) facilities at top right. To the far right can be seen an MGB enginehouse and the corner of their Oberwald station. Directly under the left side of the caternary is the MGB platform which connects to the DFB platform by a pedestrian underpass making it possible for an easy walk between the two railways. You can ride the DFB one way, and take the MGB through the Furka Base Tunnel the other way, in either direction. The DFB coaches rest at the DFB platform while their locomotive, DFB No. 1, performs a run-around. It is backing towards the track on the lower right which leads to the DFB turntable where it will be turned for the return journey to Realp. Look closely behind the blue platform 6 sign next to the DFB coaches. You will see something there coloured red. The object will become apparent in the last photo of this group.
