Railway's Civil Week Sees
Volunteers Make Tracks

Haworth Yorkshire England United Kingdom - A team of more than 40 volunteers spent a week carrying out major engineering projects on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.

The annual Civil Week is traditionally held at the end of the summer season to tackle tasks along the five-mile line.

The major project this year was the relaying of track through Haworth Station.

Some work was also carried out at Keighley.

K&WVR spokesman Jim Shipley said:  "We had some bad weather early in the week, which slowed things down a little, so it was a race against time to have things finished for Saturday. But the teams work hard and long hours."
