Wilderswil Switzerland - The Schynige Platte Bahn's summer season is marked by the 100 year anniversary of electrification.
 
The He 2/2 locomotives acquired in 1914 are still in use today.
 
On the weekend of 14 and 15 Jun 2014, this anniversary will be celebrated along with the 121st birthday of the historic railway.
 
A Celebration for Everyone
 
The SPB invites everyone who is interested to an open house day in Wilderswil.
 
The depot as well as the locomotives can be seen that day.
 
Expert staff will be available to answer questions.
 
A framework programme with food and music will accompany the festivities.
 
Those who travel from Wilderswil to Schynige Platte and back this weekend pay just CHF25.
 
(CHF12.50 with the half-fare travel card).
 
The Schynige Platte model train from Ernst Furrer and Jürg Storrer will be displayed in the mountain restaurant.
 
The "Schynige Platte Day" ticket is available online and all Jungfrau Railways stations.
