Eben siding is where opposing trains meet. The "up" train is on the left, a "down" train on the right. This is where an "up" train will stop, uncouple the locomotive to run-around the carriages, before re-coupling to continue towards Maurach and Achensee Seespitz pulling its' carriages. Locomotives are always on the lower end of a train climbing or descending the rack section in case of coupler failure.
