Over the years the South Tynedale Railway has been extended several times, firstly from Alston to Gilderdale, then on to Kirkaugh, and now Slaggyford with the intention to continue construction northwards to Haltwhistle. This video shows the first public trip from Alston to the recently restored Slaggyford station on 9 Jun 2018.
