Avon Valley Railway's annual 1940s Weekend returns on 21 and 22 Sep 2019.
If you're a fan of vintage costumes, vehicles, and music, or simply want to experience a day out from times gone by, then this could be the event you've been waiting for.
The annual retro-themed weekend takes place at the railway station in Bitton and features vintage vehicle and re-enactor displays, music from Jayne Darling and the Goodnight Sweethearts, and even a full-sized replica Spitfire.
Event-goers are encouraged to don their best 1940s get-ups and and turn back the clock, with the station's very own Winston Churchill and Field Marshall Montgomery in attendance for some excellent mingling.
Guests will be given full access of the entire station site and will be able to ride a steam train along the track throughout the day.
It's family-friendly, meaning the little ones can tag along too, and there will be plenty of refreshments to keep you all going.
There will also be a rare opportunity to sit in the cockpit and start the engine of the only full-size replica Spitfire in the world, with a working Rolls Royce engine.
For this, anyone interested will need to pre-book.
The Bitton Blitz Boogie is a new wartime evening attraction for the 2019 event, giving guests the chance to dance the evening away along to the music of the time.
This will take place at 19:00 on Saturday, 21 Sep 2019, at Bitton Sports and Social Club, a short walk away.
As the car park will be out of use for the duration of the weekend, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a free vintage bus ride from Keynsham, near the Lock Keeper pub and Keynsham's mainline railway station.
For anyone not attending the event, temporary toilet facilities for users of the railway path will be put in place at the station entrance.
All tickets can be purchased at the door on the day.
Site entry tickets cost £3 with train tickets priced as follows:
Tickets for the new Bitton Blitz Boogie at Bitton Sports and Social Club cost £10.
