Class 42 "Warship" D832 "Onslaught" Arrives at Ecclesbourne Valley Railway
15 March 2018

The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway have announced that Class 42 "Warship" D832 "Onslaught" has arrived at Wirksworth, ahead of the line's Diesel Locomotive Weekend.

About D832 Onslaught

D832 is one of only two remaining Class 42 "Warship" and is based at East Lancashire Railway.

The first class members appeared in 1958, being allocated to the Western Region.

Withdrawal of the class came early, as British Rail wanted all engines with hydraulic transmission to be withdrawn.

About the Diesel Locomotive Weekend

This event takes place this weekend (Saturday 17th and Sunday, 18 Mar 2018) with four diesel engines taking part.
