Whitehead Company in 1901 and commenced building light locomotives in 1902. It was renamed the Davenport Locomotive Works in 1904. Early models had the smokebox exposed ahead of the saddle tank until about 1910 when the saddle tank was increased in size and water capacity by extending it forward over the smokebox - 1920 Leonard Frank - Jewish Museum and Archives of British Columbia CA JMABC A.1985.001-1-9-LF.00190.
