This is an old photo taken in 2005 from the Dorvil Road footbridge in Blaenau Ffestiniog. I didn't make it that far east this visit. The departing locomotive Mountaineer is currently out of service. To the left lies the standard gauge National Rail track that connects to Llandudno Junction on the North Coast of Wales. In the distance the Ffestiniog platform and canopy, with a track on each side, can be seen just before the footbridge across both lines. Notice the unique bumping post on the center stub track with gravel ballast to slow runaway rolling stock.
