Mittersill Austria - In a collision between a passenger car and the Pinzgauer Lokalbahn at Mittersill, a woman was fatally injured late Saturday afternoon.
 
According to police, an 84-year-old local man was driving his car on the B165 highway in the direction of Krimml.
 
At the railway crossing near the Salzachbrücke, he overlooked the red light and the train and entered the crossing.
 
The passenger car was struck by the train on the driver's side and dragged about 25 meters.
 
By the force of the impact the man and his wife sitting next to him were trapped in the vehicle.
 
The 80-year-old woman suffered fatal injuries in the accident.
 
The vehicle was heavily damaged.
 
A 15-year-old, who at the time of the accident was on the train, suffered from shock and was treated at the Mittersill hospital.
