In April of 1995 the Arrowsmith Potters' Guild occupied the Parksville station where they hold instructional classes and sell their hand made pottery.

 
In 2007 the VIA Rail Dayliner would still make stops at the station as is indicated by the timetable board on the freight shed.

 
Within walking distance west of the station this typical Canaadian Pacific Railway un-enclosed water tank has been reconstructed. The red ball on the central mast was moved by a float inside the tank to indicate the water level.
