This photo looks east along the CP tracks from the Columbia Street grade crossing. This gate tower is different from the one pictured in the 1937
Staff Bulletin photo. The 1937 tower appears to be a typical CP gate tower, as seen below, mounted on vertical posts which has had the support
structure enclosed with wood framing. The street overpass to the Canadian National pier is in the distance while the Columbia Street crossing gates
appear on the right. Scale drawings for modelling this newer tower were produced by Norm Szun a number of years ago - 8 Apr 1978 R. Battocchio.
