Denver & Rio Grande Western (D&RGW) three foot gauge 2-8-2 Mikado class K-37 number 491 was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1908 as a standard gauge 2-8-0 Consolidation then rebuilt as a narrow gauge Mikado in 1928 by the D&RGW Burnham Shops in Denver. In 1970 it was acquired by the Colorado Historical Society and stored at Alamosa until 1985 when it was moved to the Colorado Railroad Museum on a long term lease. It is currently operable.
