This three foot narrow gauge four-wheel "bobber" caboose was built in 1882 for the Denver South Park & Pacific (DSP&P). After serving DSP&P successors Denver Leadville & Gunnison (DL&G) and Colorado & Southern (C&S) it was retired at Leadville in 1942. The car body served for 20 years as a backyard shed until being purchased, restored, and re-lettered C&S 1009 by the Colorado Railroad Museum. The small lettering next to the door reads: "WARNING ALL PERSONS ARE FORBIDDEN TO RIDE UPON PLATFORMS OF THIS CABOOSE".
