In 1895 the Ohio Falls Car Manufacturing Company of Jeffersonville, Indiana, completed a brand new three foot gauge boxcar for the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad (D&RGW). By 1906 this boxcar appeared on the roster as caboose D&RGW 04990. In 1951 the car body was sold to a local rancher in Alamosa for a shed. 1975 saw the car body purchased by the City of Boulder, Colorado, and displayed in Central Park. In 2007 an arsonist set fire to the caboose. By 2009 volunteers had restored the caboose. Finally, in 2012, it was moved to the Colorado Railroad Museum at Golden where it was photographed in its present condition.
