Sure enough, farther up the hill No. 5 is indeed steam powered, as she exits the lower Spiral Tunnel passing milepost 131.7, the lower Kicking Horse Bridge. The standard CPR sign on the right is a flanger warning indicating the flanger operator must raise the flanger blade so as not to snag it upon the Jordan rails on the bridge. (8 of 21)
