MP 131.7 - F2a Jubilee 3000

Locomotive 3000 crosses the lower Kicking Horse Bridge on the head-end of Train No. 5. The dirty stack is unusual since the engine is working downgrade. Perhaps the fireman has decided to clean the flues by shovelling a scoopfull of sand into the firebox. Built by Montreal Locomotive Works in 1936 this engine is fast approaching retirement in 1955. There may have been a power shortage in Alyth as it is unusual for this class to work the Laggan Sub. It would normally operate between Calgary and Edmonton.  (9 of 21)
