School Budget Increase - 30 May 2023 - Sooke School District's budget jumped $17.5 million over last year.

Free Coffee and Signs - 29 May 2023 - Council members appeared at Whiffen Spit for discussions with community members.

Byelection Called - 27 May 2023 - Sooke residents, being part of the Langford-Juan de Fuca provincial riding, may vote for their new MLA in the upcoming byelection.

Harbourview Approved - 26 May 2023 - An 8 story building along with a 1 and 3 story building is approved for construction next to Mariner's Village south of Highway 14 at Church Road.

School Bus Driver Shortage - 25 May 2023 - Due to a shortage of bus drivers the district was forced to cancel some school bus routes.

Fire and Rescue Protection - 23 May 2023 - The Sooke Fire Rescue Department (SFRD) will begin 24 hour, seven days-a-week service on 24 May 2023.

Dog Park Closed - 23 May 2023 - Closing for two weeks, 07:30 to 16:00, during construction of a gazebo.

Less Harbour View - 18 May 2023 - An 8 story building along with a 1 and 3 story building is proposed construction next to Mariner's Village south of Highway 14 at Church Road.

Smash and Grab - 16 May 2023 - Three criminals drove a stolen pick-up truck into Sooke Power Supply then stole equipment worth thousands of dollars.

Sooke Brewing Gold - 15 May 2023 - The Sooke Brewing Company has won a World Beer Cup Gold award.

Ed MacGregor Park - 20 Oct 2013 - 300 metres west of the Otter Point Road traffic light you'll find the parking lot to Ed MacGregor Park. Take an hour or so and walk through the park and down the zig zag boardwalk to the boardwalk over the harbour where you can walk out onto the docks below and watch the locals crab fishing.
